The Power of Boldness in Art and Business: Bena Shklyanoy on The Backpack Show
The power of boldness in art and business, on this episode of The Backpack Show with Chris Brogan and Kerry O'Shea Gorgone. We’ll talk with playwright Bena Shklyanoy. Born in Kiev, she emigrated to the United States with her husband and children in 1976. Fearful that her family’s history would be lost, Bena traced her family line back to pre-soviet Russia in 1852. Her family had come through revolution, multiple wars, the Holocaust, pogroms (anti-Jewish rioting), and life in the USSR. Bena turned this family history into a website, then co-wrote two plays based on the stories. We’ll talk with Bena about her work chronicling the history of her Soviet Jewish family, and how she’s turned obstacles into stepping stones along the way. https://appledoesnotfall.com/
