She Fought the Law and She Won! On this episode of The Backpack Show with Chris Brogan and Kerry O'Shea Gorgone, we'll talk with Sheriff Charmaine McGuffey, Hamilton County's first female, LGBTQ sheriff. We’ve all experienced toxic work environments at one time or another. But Charmaine McGuffey experienced next-level gaslighting and harassment at her job with the sheriff’s office. An out lesbian as well as a retired major and an exemplary law enforcement officer, Charmaine was harassed by superiors and colleagues in “one of the harshest male-dominated environments you can imagine.” Eventually, her boss fired her from the sheriff’s department. So she ran against him in the next election and became sheriff herself! We’ll talk with Charmaine about taking back her career.
