Saving the Neighborhood and Saving the Planet: On this episode of The Backpack Show with Chris Brogan and Kerry O'Shea Gorgone, we'll talk with Karns Foods VP Andrea Karns. Andrea’s one of the only female executives in Pennsylvania’s independent grocery industry. Her grandfather founded the family owned and operated grocery chain in 1961, and she’s worked in Karns stores since she was a teenager.
We’ll talk with Andrea about how she created the safest shopping environment possible during the pandemic, and how she’s helped small local businesses to stay afloat by inviting them to create pop-up experiences for shoppers. https://www.karnsfoods.com/
We’ll also talk with environmental activist Jamie Margolin. We’ll talk with Jamie about founding the nonprofit Zero Hour “to center the voices of diverse youth in the conversation around climate and environmental justice,” and how they’re taking on the problem of climate change. We’ll also ask Jamie about her forthcoming book, "Youth to Power: Your Voice and How to Use It." http://thisiszerohour.org/
