On this episode of The Backpack Show with Chris Brogan and Kerry O'Shea Gorgone, we'll talk with entrepreneur and disability activist Collette Divitto and Johnsonville founder Ralph Stayer. Collette, a young woman with Down Syndrome, moved to Boston after college and started interviewing for jobs. After receiving a series of rejections saying she just “wasn’t a good fit,” she decided to forget working for someone else and founded her own company, Collettey’s Cookies. Now she creates jobs for people with disabilities and runs leadership programs to help the disability community enter the workforce. We'll also talk with “sausage king” Ralph Stayer, founder of Johnsonville, and we could not be more excited! We love his attitude about early failures: “Don't be hard on yourself early in the game: Anything worth doing is worth doing poorly.” So much to learn here!
