In this episode of The Backpack Show LIVE with Chris Brogan and Kerry O'Shea Gorgone we'll talk with burlesque performer and instructor Ariel Helvetica and Buy From a Black Woman founder Nikki Porcher! Ariel Helvetica is known as “the showgirl with legs to write home about!” She’s performed at the top burlesque shows in Europe, Canada, and the U.S. since her 2011 debut, and spent 5 years working as a professional Can-Can girl in France. Ariel is also assistant director at the Vancouver Burlesque Company. We’ll talk with her about the art (and the business) of burlesque! https://arielhelvetica.com/
We'll also talk with Nikki Porcher, founder of nonprofit organization Buy From a Black Woman, about the work she's doing to support Black women business owners. According to Porcher, “annual sales for Black women business owners are five times smaller than all women-owned businesses due to lack of support and awareness.” She's working to bridge that gap with educational programs, an online directory, and funding. We can’t wait to talk with Nikki about the work she’s doing! https://www.buyfromablackwoman.org/
