On this episode of The Backpack Show with Chris Brogan and Kerry O'Shea Gorgone, we'll talk with striptease artist Carmen Ali ("April Fiasco"), coder and community expert John Saddington, and comedian Kristofer Thomas. Carmen Ali aka April Fiasco—comedian, actor, burlesque and striptease performer—is in one of those industries that was hit especially hard by the pandemic. When COVID-19 shut down the performance venue where she worked, she co-founded CYBERTEASE, a virtual strip club that runs as a profit-share co-op for strippers. We’ll talk with Carmen about innovating to survive, and how running the show differs from working at a “traditional” strip club. Community expert and coder John Saddington is the founder of Yen.fm. We’ll talk with John about “the passion economy,” and the “#nocode / #lowcode / future of work.” Kristofer Thomas is a comedian and also out as a trans man. We’ll talk with Kristofer about what to say (and what not to say) when someone comes out as trans, and we’ll also cover his comedy, writing, and acting.
